What Is Meditation?

Meditation is different things to different people.

To some, meditation is the act or process of relaxation.

To others, meditation is more about beliefs and religion.

Yet, there are others, who have discovered and now know the real potential of meditation.

It is the means by which you can discover - for yourself - within yourself - just who and what you really are.

No books. No beliefs. No ceremony. No men in robes. No more uncertainty. No more 'stories'.

Meditation is the only way, that I know, that you can discover the amazing truth about yourself, what lies within you and what you really are.

But, I can still hear some of you shout, "Yes, bit what is meditation!"

OK, I will give you a simple definition.

Meditation is the process of stilling your mind, body and emotions. By becoming increasingly still, and balenced, you will become more and more aware of aspects of yourself that you never even knew existed.

Most meditation techniques start by calming the body, either through slow movement, like yoga, or breathing exercises.

Then their are various ways of calming the mind. These usually involving focussing one thing, like a candle, or a sound.

This combination of relaxation and focus, allows the meditator to become increasingly 'aware'. This awareness expands as the meditator relaxes and develops the ability to 'let go'.

The effectiveness of any meditation technique is its ability to assist in the expansion of your awareness.

The most effective meditation technique that I know can be found on the advanced meditation link at the top of this page.
