There are many ways to meditate, they include:
1) Breath Meditation.
2) Candle Meditation
3) Visualisation
4) Guided Meditation
5) Sound Meditation
6) Light Meditation
7) Mandala Meditation
8) Crystal Meditation
9) Movement Meditation
and there are many other
ways to meditate.
The effectiveness of each of these techniques depends on what you are trying to achieve. For instance, I can show you a powerful visualisation technique, that will greatly improve your ability to focus. Or I could show you a hatha yoga routine that would make you physically stronger, whilst calming your mind and emotions at the same time.
Or I could show you a way to meditate with a crystal that will allow you to experience your sense of 'self', in a totally new way. You see, it depends on what you are looking for, as not all ways to meditate are the same.
I always recommend that people explore the basic meditation techniques, then move on to the advanced ways to meditate.
