Meditation Practice

If you are learning a new skill, it is normal to practice, to increase your knowlege of the subject, to build on what you know, to become better at it.

Meditation practice is slightly different. The more you practice meditation, the more relaxed you become, the more you let go of what you 'know'. So it is not so much a case of building on what you know, it is more a case of building on your ability to let go of what you know.

In the process of letting go of what you 'know', you may make some incredible observations and realisations about yourself.

If someone is keen to learn a subject, they usually buy books, watch dvd's, or even find experts on the subject to talk to. This is an important part of learning any subject. It is exciting and can be great fun.

However, to avoid wasting your time studying something you may not be interested in, I would recommend you give a more thought to what you want from your meditation practice.

Have a good look around this web site. Watch the free Meditation Class video, where I demonstrate several really useful meditation practices. Have a look at the Advanced Meditation info. This should help you decide what is best for your own meditation practice.
