You can use meditation to 'dissolve' your stress, it does work. But, reducing stress is simply a side effect, or by-product, of meditation.
Meditation is a very powerful process of bringing a sense of stillness, or balence into your 'self', or your mind, body and emotions. As you meditate more and more, your 'self' takes on a little of the qualities of the meditation, that is, stillness and neutrality.
Imagine if you walked into a flower shop, and enjoyed wandering among the fragrant blossoms and blooms. After ten minutes or so, you walk outside into the street. If someone came near you, what do you think you would smell of? Of course, you would smell of the flowers that you had been close to. And so it is with meditation and stress.
You would meditate in a calm, still place. You would go inside and use meditation techniques that calm your mind. As your mental and emotional chatter subsides, then you would sit in a stiller and stiller place. You will enjoy the peace and tranquility inside. When you have finished meditating, you will open your eyes and go back into the world.Taking the stress-free fragrance of meditation with you.
Obviously, depending on your lifestyle, and your ability not to get too overwhelmed by the world, the stress-free fragrance of meditation will only last so long. That is why it is important to meditate often. It is better to meditate ten minutes a day, than to only meditate for two hours on a sunday.
Daily top ups of meditation stillness will keep the stress away.
